Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent and grounds/parks maintenance experience.
• Valid North Carolina driver’s license at hire.
• Pesticide Applicator’s License within one year of employment.

Responsibilities

• Mows grass, maintains grounds, and applies pesticides/herbicides as needed.
• Prepares athletic fields for sports events and maintains ball fields.
• Cleans parks, restrooms, and restocks supplies.
• Performs basic repairs to facilities including carpentry, electrical, plumbing, and masonry work.
• Builds and repairs park furniture and maintains equipment.
• Leads seasonal or temporary workers as a crew leader.
• Maintains cleaning and grounds equipment.
• Maintains pesticide and herbicide records and inventory.
• Operates mowers, tractors, and related appurtenances.
