Job summary

The City of Edina is seeking a Maintenance Technician II for Centennial Lakes Park to handle general maintenance of park buildings and grounds and assist with special events and daily operations.

This role requires operating grounds and facilities equipment, snow removal, safety inspections, and proactive repairs, with outdoor work year-round and weekend/evening shifts as needed. Candidates should be at least 16 and hold a Minnesota driver’s license.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of building maintenance and custodial duties.
• Ability to safely operate building and grounds maintenance equipment including snow removal equipment.
• Ability to make minor repairs to buildings and fixtures.
• Ability to work independently to prioritize requests.
• Effective verbal and written communication with public and City staff.

Responsibilities

• Operate equipment for maintenance of grounds and facilities including snow removal equipment.
• Ensure buildings and grounds are operational and safe for daily functions.
• Inspect assigned areas for issues or safety concerns.
• Keep walkways and areas free of snow, ice and debris.
• Report issues to manager.
• Clean and maintain buildings and grounds; perform general cleaning duties.
• Manage lake cleanliness and debris.
• Perform minor repairs and preventative maintenance as directed.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
