Job summary

City and County of Denver is seeking a full-time Park Operations Equipment Operator II focused on waste collection and parks maintenance. Work is on-site at Morrison, CO with early hours and occasional weekends.

Ideal candidates bring a high school diploma, a CDL-B with endorsements, and 2+ years operating equipment; a CDL Tanker endorsement is due within 6 months. CDL-A is targeted within 6 months as well.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Three years general labor experience, including two years operating light to medium equipment.
• CDL-B with endorsements; Tanker endorsement within 6 months; licenses must be kept current.

Responsibilities

• Operate light- to medium-sized equipment (trash trucks, bobcat, dump trucks) for parks maintenance.
• Perform pre/post-trip inspections and basic maintenance/repairs as needed.
• Monitor on-board instruments and take corrective action as needed.
• Keep trip logs; report defects, accidents, damages, or violations.
• Handle park maintenance tasks: trash removal, graffiti removal, power washing, etc.
• Interact with the public respectfully and coordinate with stakeholders; snow removal as required.
