Job summary

City and County of Denver seeks an Equipment Operator I in Wastewater Management. This position reports to the DOTI and supports field construction, maintenance, and repair tasks across the city, with a schedule Monday–Friday, 6:30 a.m.–3:00 p.m.

A CDL in good standing and a background check are required. Ideal candidates bring wastewater or public works experience, ability to work in varied weather conditions, and knowledge of Denver streets.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in wastewater/public works is preferred.
• Able to work in various weather conditions and environments.
• Familiarity with City of Denver streets and maps helps field operations.

Responsibilities

• Operate light- to medium-sized industrial equipment for construction, maintenance and repair.
• Perform pre- and post-trip inspections as per guidelines.
• Monitor equipment performance and take corrective action as needed.
• Carry out manual labor tasks as required by field assignments.
• Perform basic preventive maintenance and minor repairs to keep equipment running.
• Maintain trip records, logs and reports; document defects and damages.
• Answer public inquiries courteously with accurate information.
• Assist in snow removal operations when required.
• Take on additional related duties as assigned.
