Job summary

City and County of Denver is hiring an Equipment Operator I to support the Street Maintenance team. In this role you will perform sweeping operations, inspect vehicles, and supervise junior staff while contributing to the safety and reliability of Denver’s streets.

Qualified candidates will have a high school diploma or GED, at least two years of general labor experience with six months operating light to medium equipment, and a valid CDL-B with endorsements.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Two years general labor experience with at least six months operating light to medium equipment.
• CDL-B license with appropriate endorsements required.

Responsibilities

• Sweeper operations, route sweeping, and related duties.
• Pre/post trip inspection of vehicle and tires; ensure safe operation.
• Guide and direct junior teammates.
• Perform semi-skilled to heavy physical labor on maintenance projects.
• Operate light to medium equipment for maintenance/construction.
• Place and remove traffic control devices per regulations.
• Participate in snow removal duties.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.
