Job summary

The City and County of Denver is hiring a Waste Services Operator I to operate solid waste collection trucks, collect waste and recyclables, and document service using field tablets. The role covers a Central Platte Campus base with citywide field work and potential overtime opportunities.

Qualified candidates have a high school diploma or GED, two years of general labor experience with six months driving light–to–medium equipment, and a valid CDL-B with endorsements.

Qualifications

High school diploma or GED/HiSET/TASC required.
Two years of general labor experience with at least six months driving light–to–medium equipment.
CDL-B with endorsements required at time of application (FMCSA).

Responsibilities

Safely operates a solid waste collection truck on a designated route.
Loads/unloads waste and recyclables at transfer sites.
Reads and follows route maps; documents service using tablets.
Responds to public inquiries in a courteous manner.
Completes daily pre/post trip inspections and assists with basic equipment maintenance.
