Job summary

Archdiocese of Chicago is seeking a Senior Manager of Finance and Parish Administration to oversee day-to-day financial operations and administrative support for the parish. The role partners with the Finance Director to strengthen financial processes in line with Archdiocesan policies and drives ministry reporting and data analytics.

Qualifications

• Bachelor degree in accounting/finance/business.
• ≥5 years in accounting/finance in parish or business entity.
• Thorough knowledge of accounting principles (GAAP).
• Proficiency in QuickBooks and Excel; UKG payroll knowledge preferred.
• Ability to analyze, interpret and improve financial processes and controls.
• Strong verbal and written communication, interpersonal and organizational skills.

Responsibilities

• Perform day-to-day accounting: payables/receivables, bank reconciliations, general ledger, monthly close.
• Ensure internal controls align with GAAP and policies.
• Support budgeting, annual reports, and monthly financial reporting.
• Develop monthly variance reports and forecasts; present to leadership.
• Manage giving systems and contribution records; ensure accurate recording.
• Provide payroll back-up and assist in payroll processing when needed.
• Collaborate with the Finance Director and attend Archdiocesan meetings.
• Support parish and school finance operations and related projects.
