Job summary

The Archdiocese of Chicago is seeking a Senior Manager of Finance and Parish Administration to oversee day-to-day financial operations and administrative support for the parish, ensuring GAAP-compliant records and sound financial decisions.

In collaboration with the Director of Finance and Strategic Initiatives, you will strengthen processes, prepare budgets and reports, manage giving and vendor relations, and provide data analytics to support ministry initiatives of both parish and school

Qualifications

Undergraduate degree in Accounting, Finance, Business or equivalent professional experience.
Five years in an accounting or finance role within a parish or business entity.
Demonstrated thorough knowledge of accounting principles.
Strong proficiency in QuickBooks and Microsoft Office, especially Excel.

Responsibilities

Perform day-to-day accounting functions including payables/receivables, bank reconciliations, general ledger, and monthly close.
Ensure internal controls and financial processes align with GAAP and Archdiocesan policies.
Support budgeting, annual reports, and monthly financial reports.
Develop monthly variance reports and forecasts; explain reports to pastors and administrators.
Manage giving systems and vendor relationships; oversee procurement card transactions.
Provide back-up for payroll and assist with school finance and operations.
