Job summary

Archdiocese of Chicago seeks an Operations Director to lead parish operations, finance, and facilities in alignment with Catholic teachings. The OD supports the Pastor and Principal, supervising operations staff and driving financial performance within Archdiocesan guidelines.

Based at St. Elizabeth of the Trinity in Norwood Park, the role covers budgeting, school financials, buildings, HR, IT, and communications, ensuring confidential information governance and mission-focused stewardship.

Qualifications

• Must be Catholic and support the Catholic Church teaching, mission and values.
• Experience in Accounting, Finance, or related business practices.
• Able to identify opportunities for improvement, evaluate issues and propose solutions.
• Strong proficiency in QuickBooks and Microsoft Office, especially Excel.
• Experience in Human Resources practices, including people leadership, interviewing and selection, policy application.
• Be entrusted with highly confidential information.
• Must hold bachelor degree or higher in related fields such as Accounting, Finance, or Business Management.

Responsibilities

• Prepare budgets, annual reports, P&L, balance sheet, and general ledger.
• Develop monthly variance reports and reforecasts with Pastor/Principal.
• Oversee internal controls and parish financial operations.
• Manage parish banking relations, accounts, and discrepancies.
• Oversee payroll, vendor relations, and capital campaigns as applicable.
• Oversee HR practices and staff performance, including reviews.
• Direct parish communications, census/records, and IT infrastructure.
