Job summary

Archdiocese of San Antonio in the United States seeks a part-time Event Coordinator to serve as liaison between St. Joseph Catholic Church and families, coordinating weddings, funerals, quinceañeras, sweet 16s, and other liturgical events.

The Event Coordinator will serve as Sacristan during liturgies, helping create a welcoming and reverent environment for the parish. Responsibilities include ensuring facilities are prepared and secure, coordinating readings and musicians, arranging rehearsals,

Responsibilities

• Works with individuals in ensuring all Church teachings and liturgical guidelines are followed while accommodating wishes for liturgies.
• Serves as Sacristan during liturgies.
• Ensures the facility (Church, Chapel, or Hall) is prepared for events, including temperature control and readings copies.
• Oversees opening and locking up of the facilities and follows security procedures.
• Coordinates readings, lectors, musicians, and the potential for altar servers.
• Coordinates and communicates with the Director of Liturgy.
• For weddings, works with the couple to identify items used in the ceremony (coins, rosaries, flowers, etc.).
• After wedding ceremonies, provides certificates and secures signed licenses for church records.
• For weddings and quinceañeras/sweet 16s, coordinates rehearsals prior to the event date.
• Maintains positive relationships with staff, volunteers, and community members who use the facility.
