First Student, Inc. is hiring a Fleet Technician to maintain paratransit vehicles. You will perform preventive maintenance and inspections to keep buses and vans safe and reliable for service, under guidance from experienced leadership.

The role requires basic mechanical aptitude, a valid license, and a plan to pursue ASE certifications within 24 months, with opportunities to grow within a safety‑conscious shop environment.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of automotive, diesel, fleet, or related mechanical experience.
• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• Valid driver's license and safety minded.
• Willing to begin ASE certification within first year and obtain at least one ASE within 24 months.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine preventive maintenance and safety inspections on buses, vans, and fleet vehicles.
• Complete basic mechanical repairs and replace worn components.
• Inspect brakes, tires, fluids, and electrical systems.
• Diagnose basic mechanical issues and communicate repair needs.
• Complete work orders and keep maintenance records.
• Assist with road calls and vehicle breakdowns when needed.
