Job summary

First Student in the United States seeks an Automotive Maintenance Technician to perform routine and some non-routine vehicle maintenance on buses, vans, and more. You will inspect, repair, and service vehicles, maintain records, and assist with road calls as needed.

The role requires a High School diploma or GED, Class B CDL with passenger endorsement (or expected within 3 months), and 3 years of automotive/diesel repair experience. ASE certification preferred; physical ability to lift 50 lbs.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED; vocational cert preferred.
• Class B CDL with passenger endorsement or expected within 3 months.
• State inspection license if required; ASE certification preferred.
• 3 years automotive or diesel repair experience or equivalent.
• Valid driver’s license; ability to lift 50 lbs; good communication.

Responsibilities

• Perform basic and advanced maintenance under supervision (bulbs, fluids, filters).
• Repair brakes, tune-ups, suspensions, drive trains under moderate supervision.
• Maintain records of maintenance work and parts used.
• Assist with road calls and emergency services as needed.
• Adhere to safety standards and FirstGroup policies.
