Job summary

Metropolitan Transportation Authority (MTA) New York City Transit is seeking a Staff Analyst I/II or Associate Staff Analyst to administer ADA Access-A-Ride eligibility appeals. The role involves processing appeals, scheduling hearings, communicating with appellants, and generating periodic reports on suspension and conduct data, with telework possible after 30 days.

Qualifications

  • Master's degree in economics, finance, accounting, business or public administration, or JD with one year related experience.
  • Bachelor's degree and three years of related professional experience as described above.
  • Associate degree or 60 credits with five years of related experience.
  • Four-year high school diploma or equivalent with seven years of related experience.
  • Combination of education and/or experience equivalent to items 1–4.

Responsibilities

  • Process, investigate, and record receipt of eligibility and conduct suspension/termination appeals.
  • Schedule appeal hearings and respond to appellants’ inquiries.
  • Notify appellants of Appeals Board decisions and provide analysis and reporting.
  • Generate monthly reports and handle requests for Access-A-Ride records.
