Job summary

Henry County School District is seeking a Special Education Assistant to support students with special needs during the school day, assisting with academics and daily routines.

This 10-month, full-time position starts immediately and requires an ELS paraprofessional license or a Professional Educator License. Strong communication, basic math, and computer skills are essential to help students meet their IEP goals.

Qualifications

• MUST hold an ELS (Paraprofessional) license or Professional Educator License (PEL).
• Good written and oral communication skills, ability to communicate with all levels of staff, parents and students.
• Basic math and computer skills as well as some general office skills are needed.

Responsibilities

• Assist student(s) with special needs throughout the day with academics and daily school routines.
• Will assist the student(s) in following a strict schedule and maintaining his/her safety while school is in session.
• Support the students and teacher to ensure success of each student in meeting his/her IEP goals.
• Other duties as assigned by supervisor.

STARTING DATE: Immediately

WORK HOURS: 10 Months / Full-Time

RANGE OF PAY: $18.03- $19.28 / Hour. Additional stipends available based upon assignment
