Job summary

Henry County School District seeks a faithful Special Education Assistant to support students with special needs during the LIGHT Program. This full-time, 10-month position starts immediately and offers hourly wages in the range of $18.03–$19.28, with stipends possible based on assignment.

Responsibilities include assisting students with academics and daily routines, maintaining safety, and helping meet IEP goals under supervision. Strong communication skills are essential.

Qualifications

• Must hold an ELS Paraprofessional license or PEL.
• Good written and oral communication skills with staff, parents and students.
• Basic math, computer and general office skills required.

STARTING DATE: Immediately

WORK HOURS: 10 Months / Full-Time

RANGE OF PAY: $18.03- $19.28 / Hour. Additional stipends available based upon assignment

SUMMARY OF RESPONSIBILITIES:Assist student(s) with special needs throughout the day with academics and daily school routines. Will assist the student(s) in following a strict schedule and maintaining his/her safety while school is in session. Support the students and teacher to ensure success of each student in meeting his/her IEP goals. Other duties as assigned by supervisor.

SUMMARY OF QUALIFICATIONS: MUSThold an ELS (Paraprofessional) license or Professional Educator License (PEL). Good written and oral communication skills, ability to communicate with all levels of staff, parents and students. Basic math and computer skills as well as some general office skills are needed.
