Henry County School District's Huntley High School is hiring a full-time Special Education Assistant for the 2026–2027 school year (10 months).
Responsibilities include assisting students with special needs, following a strict schedule, supporting the teacher, and helping meet IEP goals while ensuring safety.
Qualifications: hold an ELS paraprofessional license or a Professional Educator License (PEL); strong communication and basic math/computer skills.

STARTING DATE: 2026 / 2027 School Year
WORK HOURS: 10 Months / Full-Time
SUMMARY OF RESPONSIBILITIES: Assist students with special needs throughout the day with academics and daily school routines. Will assist the students in following a strict schedule and maintaining his/her safety while school is in session. Assist the teacher with miscellaneous classroom tasks. Support the students and teacher to ensure success of each student in meeting his/her IEP goals. Other duties as assigned by supervisor.
SUMMARY OF QUALIFICATIONS: MUST hold an ELS (Paraprofessional) license or Professional Educator License (PEL). Good written and oral communication skills, ability to communicate with all levels of staff, parents and students. Basic math and computer skills as well as some general office skills are needed.
