Job summary

BioLife Plasma Services seeks a Medical Support Specialist (Plasma Center Nurse) to support plasma center operations. You will determine donor eligibility, review lab results, and notify donors of unsuitable results, ensuring compliance with SOPs and safety standards.

You will report to the Center Manager and work under the Center Physician for medical issues, with familiarity of regulatory requirements in plasma collection and environment, health, and safety guidance.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; nursing program graduate as per state requirements.
• Current EMT-Paramedic license or certification.
• CPR and AED certification current.
• Familiar with plasma collection regulations and safety rules.

Responsibilities

• Determine donor eligibility, including consent, medical history, and initial screening.
• Assess donor reactions and manage incidents per SOPs.
• Coordinate donor safety and transport for emergencies under physician guidance.
• Refer complex findings to Center Physician or Medical Affairs as applicable.
• Support vaccination programs for Hepatitis B and seasonal flu as needed.
• Manage employee incidents with EHS guidance.
• Serve as Pandemic Coordinator when authorized by EHS.
