Job summary

BioLife Plasma Services in Milwaukee seeks a Medical Support Specialist (Plasma Center Nurse) to support plasma center operations, determine donor eligibility, review test results, manage donor safety, and respond to medical events under the Center Manager and Center Physician.

Requirements include EMT-Paramedic licensure in the state, CPR/AED certification, state IV therapy readiness, FDA training for BioLife staff, and at least two years in a clinical or hospital setting.

Qualifications

• State-licensed EMT-Paramedic required.
• CPR and AED certification required.
• Two years of clinical or hospital experience preferred.
• Fulfill state IV therapy requirements where applicable.
• FDA-approved BioLife Medical Support Specialist training completed.

Responsibilities

• Determine donor eligibility including informed consent and medical history review.
• Evaluate donor reactions and manage medical emergencies per SOPs.
• Refer to Center Physician or Medical Affairs for abnormal findings or guidance.
• Support employee vaccination programs (Hepatitis B and Seasonal Flu).
• Manage occupational health incidents and coordinate with EHS when needed.
• Act as Pandemic Coordinator when authorized by EHS/Medical Affairs.
