BioLife Plasma Services seeks a Medical Support Specialist (Plasma Center Nurse) to ensure donor eligibility, monitor adverse events, review laboratory results, and communicate findings. The role reports to the Center Manager and collaborates with the Center Physician on medical issues.

Must hold an active EMT-Paramedic license in the responsible state, CPR/AED certification, and have at least two years in a clinical or hospital setting.

Formación

• High school diploma or equivalent incl. graduate nursing program with state requirements.
• Currently licensed or certified as EMT-Paramedic in the responsible state.
• Current CPR and AED certification.
• Fulfill state requirements for basic IV therapy.
• Satisfactorily complete the FDA approved training requirements for BioLife Medical Support Specialist.
• Two years in a clinical or hospital setting.

Responsabilidades

• Determine donor eligibility including informed consent, AIDS education, confidential self-exclusion, medical history interview, acceptance requirements, physical exam, blood testing, and SPE review.
• Evaluate donor reactions per SOPs; manage medical emergencies with Center Physician standing orders and donor transport to care facilities.
• Refer to the Center Physician or Medical Affairs for unacceptable findings or medical/technical guidance including donor safety and eligibility.
• Support Hepatitis B and Seasonal Flu vaccination programs for employees as applicable.
• Manage employee incidents and determine need for occupational health/ER evaluation; refer to EHS guidance.
• Possibly serve as a Pandemic Coordinator when authorized by EHS and support investigations related to pandemics.

Educación

High school diploma or equivalent incl. graduate equivalent of a recognized educational nursing program with state requirements

EMT-Paramedic license/certification in the responsible state

CPR and AED certification

Basic IV therapy state requirements

FDA approved BioLife MSS training

Two years clinical/hospital experience
