Job summary

The Office of the South Dakota Attorney General in Rapid City is offering a Summer Intern – Office of the Attorney General - Paralegal position. This internship runs May through August and provides hands-on experience reviewing pleadings, performing data entry, and supporting attorneys and paralegals.

Intern must be enrolled as a part-time or full-time student and have completed at least one year of their program by the start of the internship. A background check and drug screen are required.

Qualifications

• Must be enrolled as a part-time/full-time student at a college, university, or technical institute at the time they apply.
• By the start of the internship, the student should have completed one year (nine months) of their chosen program.

Responsibilities

• Review pleadings, perform data entry of required information, establish tickler dates, close civil forfeiture files, enter disposition and closure information into database, compile information needed for service procedures, receipt affidavits of service, file all documents in appropriate files, and work closely with paralegals and assisting attorneys as needed.
