State of South Dakota invites applications for a Summer Intern - Paralegal position with the Office of the Attorney General in Rapid City. The role will support legal staff by reviewing pleadings, entering data, managing tickler dates, filing documents, and coordinating with paralegals and attorneys for necessary tasks.
Applicants must be enrolled as part-time or full-time students and have completed at least one year of study by the internship start.

This position will review pleadings, perform data entry of required information, establish tickler dates, close civil forfeiture files, enter disposition and closure information into database, compile information needed for service procedures, receipt affidavits of service, file all documents in appropriate files, and work closely with paralegals and assisting attorneys as needed.
Applicant must be enrolled as a part-time/full-time student at a college, university, or technical institute at the time they apply. By the start of the internship, the student should have completed one year (nine months) of their chosen program.
All students are encouraged to apply, but preference may be given to applicants with a standing of junior/senior, South Dakota residents, and students of South Dakota institutions.
Successful applicant(s) will be required to undergo a background investigation. An arrest/conviction record will not necessarily bar employment. Offers of employment are conditional upon successful completion of a drug screening.
