Job summary

CACI is seeking a Paralegal (Legal Assistant I) to support the Department of Justice's mission in a fast-paced environment in Chicago. The role focuses on litigation support, trial prep, case management, and eDiscovery using Relativity and related tools.

Required paralegal certification or a four-year degree, plus at least one year in litigation settings or related projects. Strong communication and MS Office skills are essential to manage electronic files and assist prosecutors.

Qualifications

• Paralegal certificate or a four-year college degree.
• At least one year of litigation paralegal experience or related project experience.
• Excellent written and oral communication; proficient with word processing, databases, spreadsheets.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and handling electronic data.
• Understanding of electronically stored information (ESI) and eDiscovery processes.

Responsibilities

• Prepares, compiles, and summarizes materials for discovery and motions.
• Summarizes depositions and maintains case files; conducts simple legal research.
• Indexes, tracks, and controls document discovery and exhibits.
• Prepares exhibit cross-references and assists in courtroom settings.
• Reviews documents for relevance and privilege per guidelines.
• Compiles documents for FOIA, production requests, and inquiries.
