Job summary

Federal Way Public Schools is seeking an Elementary Paraeducator to supervise students and support learning in grades K-5. The role focuses on playground, breakfast/lunch supervision, and small-group instruction under a teacher’s direction.

Responsibilities include maintaining safety, assisting with skill development, and coordinating with staff and parents. The position runs Monday through Friday with 8:30am–2:00pm shifts.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• AA degree or 48 college credits or 72 quarter credits required or preferred.
• ParaPro assessment passage required by state regulations.

Responsibilities

• Supervise and monitor students throughout the school day per policies.
• Assist with basic skills development and behavior support as directed by teachers.
• Tutor individuals or small groups and assist with instructional programs.
• Plan and communicate with teachers and staff to support the same students.
• Assist with classroom setup, health procedures, and inventory maintenance.
