An established educational institution is seeking a dedicated Paraeducator for the Special Education department. This role involves supporting students with disabilities in various settings, including mainstream classrooms and specialized resource rooms. The ideal candidate will possess strong communication and interpersonal skills, along with a commitment to fostering a positive learning environment. Responsibilities include managing student behavior, monitoring progress, and assisting with physical needs. Position Type: Full Time 184 days/6.5 hrs/day - 2024-25 school year
Duties: Assists in the instruction of students with disabilities in mainstream, resource room or center-based settings. Job duties may include:
Minimum Qualifications:
Additional skills include good communication, interpersonal and recordkeeping skills, ability to work with technology, supervise students, take direction, and maintain regular attendance. Must be able to lift at least 40 pounds and perform physical responsibilities such as toileting, feeding, and self-care procedures, including working with students who may display aggressive or inappropriate behavior. Must be physically present in the building.
Rate of Pay: $18.00/hour, or up to DOQ with K-12 experience; $19.60/hour with AA/AAS degree or equivalent; $20.40/hour with BA degree or higher. Additional pay for serving center-based students or at specific centers.
Start Date: ASAP
Insurance benefits available for positions of 6 hours or more per day.
