Job summary

Kingman Unified School District #20 Desert Willow Elementary in Kingman, AZ seeks a Paraeducator II to support instructional and clerical tasks under a teacher or program coordinator. The role focuses on special education resource rooms and literacy/CTE areas and sits within the district.

Responsibilities include assisting with instruction, assessments, records, classroom setup, supervision during drills and activities, and maintaining student confidentiality.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent is required.
• AA degree, 60 college credits from an accredited university, or satisfactory results on an Arizona state-approved competency exam (ParaPro).
• Satisfactory criminal background check is required.

Responsibilities

• Respond to internal and external customers promptly, efficiently, and with patience.
• Instruct students or small groups under teacher supervision to reinforce skills.
• Assist students with physical, emotional and educational needs per IEP guidelines.
• Assist with assessments, grading, and records under a certified teacher.
• Distribute and collect instructional materials.
• Copy, collate and file worksheets and documents.
• Create bulletin boards and classroom displays.
• Operate and maintain instructional equipment.
• Supervise students during drills, assemblies, field trips and other activities.
• Alert teachers to student problems or special information.
• Maintain confidentiality of student and staff information.
• Follow all district policies, regulations and rules.
• Perform related duties safely and prudently.
