Job summary

Kingman Unified School District #20 is seeking a Paraeducator IV/V to support students in a special education classroom under the supervision of a licensed teacher. The role includes one-on-one assistance and small-group instruction aligned with IEPs, with responsibilities across classroom operations and student supervision.

This position is 9-month, 16 hours per week, with four hours daily from 8:00 am to 12:00 pm, Monday through Thursday, in a school setting.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent is required.
• AA degree, 60 college credits, or ParaPro exam satisfactory results.
• First Aid/CPR certification and/or CPI Training may be required.

Responsibilities

• Respond to internal and external customers promptly, professionally, and with patience.
• Instruct students individually or in small groups near the teacher to reinforce material.
• Assist students with physical, emotional, and educational needs per IEP guidelines.
• Assist with assessments, grading papers, and recording under the certified teacher supervision.
• Distribute and collect workbooks, papers, and materials for instruction.
• Copy, collate, and file worksheets and documents as requested.
• Develop bulletin boards, signs, borders, and classroom displays.
• Operate and care for instructional equipment.
• Supervise students during drills, assemblies, lunch/breakfast, field trips, and activities.
• Notify the teacher of any student problems or special information.
• Maintain confidentiality of student and staff information.
• Follow all policies, regulations, and rules; perform duties safely.
• Provide one-on-one assistance to a student.
• May assist with daily care in toileting and special feeding as needed.
• Work with students with severe behavior problems as required.
