Job summary

Manzanita Elementary in Kingman, Arizona is seeking a Paraeducator IV/V to support students in a special education classroom under the supervision of a certified teacher. This 9-month, 32-hour/week, part-time role includes assisting with daily instructional activities and maintaining student confidentiality.

The ideal candidate holds a high school diploma or equivalent, with the option of AA credits or ParaPro certification.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• AA degree or 60 college credits from an accredited university, or satisfactory results on an Arizona state-approved competency exam (ParaPro).
• May require First Aid/CPR certification and/or CPI Training
• Must be able to pass a criminal background check and obtain a Fingerprint Clearance Card with an IVP number through the Arizona Department of Public Safety.

Responsibilities

• Provide general classroom support or one-on-one assistance to a student under supervision of the special education teacher.
• Instruct students or small groups to reinforce material initially introduced by the teacher.
• Assist with assessments, grading papers and completing records under the supervision of the certified teacher.
• Distribute and collect materials for instruction and prepare instructional displays.
• Maintain confidentiality of student and staff information at all times.
