Job summary

Edmonds School District is seeking a Paraeducator Level I to support certificated staff in classrooms and learning environments. The role includes assisting with instructional support, supervising students, preparing materials, and helping maintain a safe, engaging learning atmosphere.

The position is non-continuing for the 2026-2027 school year, 5.41 hours per day across an 181 day calendar, with a non-exempt status and hourly compensation ranging from $29.61 to $33.52.

Qualifications

• Must be at least eighteen years old with a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Must meet one of: associate degree or higher, or 72 quarter credits / 48 semester credits, or completed paraeducator apprenticeship, or PESB assessments.
• Certifications: First Aid and CPR; de‑escalation and physical restraint training may be required.
• Mandatory in-person training before official start date.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with certificated staff in classrooms or other learning environments.
• Assist with instructional support and student supervision duties.
• Prepare educational materials and monitor student progress, behavior and safety.
• Perform routine clerical tasks to support teachers and district staff.

Skills

Be at least eighteen years of age

High school diploma or equivalent

Ability to meet one of the listed edu/

Education

Associate degree or higher from an accredited college or university

72 quarter credits or 48 semester credits at the 100 level or higher

Completed an apprenticeship as a paraeducator
