Job summary

Federal Way Public Schools in Washington state seeks a Paraeducator for Resource Support Programs to assist students with identified disabilities in one-on-one or small group settings under supervision of licensed teachers.

You will support instructional activities, participate in planning, maintain records, communicate with staff and parents, and help with safety and classroom management. Requires high school diploma and completion of required paraeducator prerequisites.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• And one of the following: AA degree, or 48 college-level credits, or 72 college-level quarter credits, or pass the paraeducator assessment test.

Responsibilities

• Tutor individuals and/or groups in specific skills as directed by the teacher.
• Assist the teacher in administering instructional and/or behavioral programs when trained.
• Communicate and work with related resource personnel.
• Supervise students in accordance with district policies.
• Plan daily/weekly with teachers and staff servicing the same students.
• Assist students and teacher with record keeping.
• Assist with communication with parents and staff.
