Job summary

Sylvania in Champlin, MN seeks a Paraeducator Secondary for full-time work across 184 days at 7 hours per day. The role supports students and teachers in middle and high school settings with instructional and supervisory tasks. Start date 8/31/26. Insurance benefits available for six-hour+ assignments.

Essential duties include assisting in various departments, supervising students, and helping implement lesson concepts under teacher direction. Strong communication and tech skills are desired.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Must be physically able to work in the building.
• Good communications, interpersonal and record‑keeping skills.
• Ability/desire to work with technology and computers.
• Ability to work cooperatively with students and staff.
• Ability to supervise students.
• Ability to take direction.
• Ability to maintain regular attendance, which includes completing an assigned day.
• Must be able to lift a minimum of 25 pounds.
• Ability to perform position responsibilities including physical factors, work devices and materials handling, data functions, and people functions.

Responsibilities

• Assist and support students and teachers in specific departments.
• Under the direction of the teacher/administrator, assist students individually or in groups, with lesson assignments to present or reinforce learning concepts.
• Assist in Audio/Visual Dept, Guidance/Counseling/Planning Center, Hall Supervision/Cafeteria Supervision, In-School Suspension Supervision, Copy Room/Mailroom, Media Center, Study Hall/Independent Study Supervision, Behavior Support Rooms, and Testing Support.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
