Job summary

Sylvania in Champlin, MN is seeking a Paraeducator for Special Education for the 2026-27 school year. The full-time position (184 days, 6.5 hours/day) supports instruction and behavior management for students with disabilities across settings.

Minimum qualifications include a high school diploma or equivalent, 60 sem/90 quarter credits or higher, and ParaEducator/ParaPro certification within 30 days; strong communication and data-recording skills are required.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• 60 sem/90 qtr credits or an associate degree (or higher) from a regionally accredited institution.
• ParaEducator or ParaPro exam/certification completed (documentation required).
• Good communication, interpersonal and recordkeeping skills; able to work with technology.

Responsibilities

• Assists in instruction of students with disabilities in various settings.
• Manage behavior by redirecting or calming disruptive students.
• Monitor and record student progress in academics and daily living skills.
• Assist with toileting, feeding, dressing, lifting and other physical needs as required.
