Job summary

Sylvania seeks a Paraeducator Special Education for the 2026-27 school year in Champlin, MN. This full-time, 184-day position supports students with disabilities in various settings, assisting with instruction, behavior management, and progress monitoring.

Qualifications

High School Diploma or equivalent.
Certification as Personal Care Assistant to be completed within 30 days of start date.
60 sem credits/90 qtr credits or associate degree or higher; or passed ParaEducator/ParaPro exam.
Good communication, interpersonal, and recordkeeping skills. Ability to work with technology and computers. Supervise students and follow directions.
Must lift a minimum of 40 pounds; perform toileting, feeding, self-care; work with students with challenging behaviors.

Responsibilities

Assist in instruction of students with disabilities across settings (mainstream, resource, center-based).
Manage behavior by redirecting or calming disruptive students.
Monitor and record student progress in academics, daily living skills, and social skills.
Assist with physical needs including toileting, feeding, dressing, lifting, and transporting students.
