Job summary

Pratt Industries is seeking a Maintenance Mechanic to join the maintenance team supporting our paper machines. This role involves preventive maintenance, troubleshooting mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems, and repairing pumps and transmissions.

You will work with forklift and crane equipment and read blueprints and manuals to ensure equipment uptime. The position requires on-site work with a 24/7 shift pattern, day and rotating assignments, and adherence to safety procedures.

Qualifications

• Post-secondary educational degree (2 to 4 year degree from college, university, technical school, military, vocational or other advanced educational institution)
• Computer/Data entry skills.
• Bachelor's degree or higher in Industrial, Mechanical,Electrical, Pulp/Paper or Chemical Engineering

Responsibilities

• Maintain processes using preventive maintenance to ensure optimum reliability and up time.
• Troubleshoot mechanical, hydraulic and pneumatic problems in process equipment.
• Repair malfunctioning equipment such as pumps, transmissions and other components.
• Operate motorized equipment such as forklifts, scissor lifts, Genie lifts, hoists and cranes.
• Read blue prints, technical manuals and literature; prepare reports legibly.
• Apply safe working practices and understand preventive and first-line maintenance.
• Correctly diagnose mechanical faults and plan a suitable course of action.
