Job summary

Pratt Industries in Shreveport, LA is seeking a Mechanical Technician to join the Maintenance Team, supporting the paper mill. The role reports to the Mechanical Maintenance Supervisor and operates on a rotating 24/7 shift with both day and shift assignments.

This position participates in reliability-centered maintenance and strives for maximum uptime. The candidate will troubleshoot mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems, repair pumps and transmissions, and read blueprints and manuals.

Qualifications

• Post-secondary degree or technical training required.
• Computer/Data entry skills required.
• Ability to read and interpret safety rules, operating manuals, blueprints, and P&IDs.
• Strong preventive maintenance and troubleshooting abilities.
• Read and interpret order instructions; prepare reports.

Responsibilities

• Ensure preventive maintenance to maximize reliability and uptime.
• Troubleshoot mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic problems.
• Repair malfunctioning equipment such as pumps and transmissions.
• Operate forklifts, scissor lifts, Genie lifts, hoists, and cranes.
• Read blueprints, technical manuals, and literature; prepare reports.
