Job summary

Pratt Paper Mill is seeking a Mechanical Technician to support reliability-centered maintenance across our paper machine operations. You will join a dynamic maintenance team on a rotating 24/7 schedule, reporting to the Mechanical Maintenance Superintendent.

The role emphasizes preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, and safe operation of forklifts, cranes, and related equipment. Ideal candidates will have a 2–4 year degree (or equivalent), strong reading of blueprints and manuals, and

Qualifications

• Post-secondary degree (2–4 years) or military/vocational training.
• Computer and data entry skills.
• Ability to read blueprints, manuals and P&IDs.
• Willingness to perform preventive maintenance and troubleshoot mechanical systems.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventive maintenance to maximize reliability and uptime of paper mill processes.
• Diagnose and repair mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic issues in equipment.
• Safely operate material handling equipment (forklifts, cranes, etc.).
• Interpret blueprints and technical manuals to guide maintenance work.
• Complete legible reports and documentation for maintenance activities.
