Job summary

Pratt Industries is seeking a Maintenance Mechanic to join our paper mill maintenance team in Georgia. You will support a 24/7 rotating shift and work closely with machine operators to sustain reliability and uptime across process equipment.

Responsibilities include diagnosing mechanical, hydraulic and pneumatic faults, repairing pumps and transmissions, reading blueprints, and performing preventive maintenance. Safe work practices and teamwork are essential in this role.

Qualifications

Post-secondary degree or equivalent education and computer/data entry skills.
Bachelor's degree or higher in Industrial, Mechanical, Electrical, Pulp/Paper or Chemical Engineering preferred.

Responsibilities

Ensure processes are maintained in a preventive fashion for optimum reliability and uptime.
Diagnose mechanical, hydraulic and pneumatic problems in process equipment.
Repair malfunctioning equipment such as pumps and transmissions.
Operate motorized equipment like forklifts, scissor lifts, Genie lifts, hoists and cranes.
Read blueprints, technical manuals and literature; prepare reports.
Apply safe working practices and preventive maintenance principles.
Lead root cause analysis and participate in problem-solving teams.
Travel to other Pratt Paper Mills for training when required.
