Job summary

Hackensack Meridian Health seeks an Advanced Practice Nurse (APN) to lead patient-centered care within a collaborative team. The APN will assess, plan, and implement care with emphasis on ethical decision-making, safety, and professional leadership.

This role includes weekend coverage; holiday work as needed; no on-call required. Must hold NJ NP license, prescriptive authority, and board certification with strong communication and computer skills.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an NLN/AACN accredited nursing program.
• Master's or Doctorate degree from an accredited Nurse Practitioner program.
• Maintains clinical competencies through continuing education and clinical practice.
• Experience in a relevant patient care setting.
• National Provider Identifier (NPI).
• Prescriptive authority through CDS and DEA registration according to New Jersey state law.
• Collaborative agreement with physicians on staff.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Proficient computer skills including Microsoft Office/Google Suite.

Responsibilities

• Performs comprehensive history and physical assessments for patients.
• Orders, performs and interprets labs and studies with physicians as appropriate.
• Manages medical/surgical conditions using evidence-based approaches.
• Prescribes medications safely per policy and provides education.
• Promotes APN practice recognition through conferences and publications.
• Delivers patient- and family-centered care in a multidisciplinary setting.
• Adheres to NJ scope of practice and department bylaws.
• Applies evidence-based medicine to improve outcomes.
• Participates in meetings and drives practice improvement.
