Job summary

Qualifications

• Graduate of an NLN/AACN accredited nursing program.
• Master's or Doctorate degree from an accredited Nurse Practitioner program.
• Maintains clinical competencies through continuing education.
• Experience in a relevant patient care setting.
• National Provider Identifier (NPI).
• Prescriptive authority through CDS and DEA registration according to New Jersey state law.
• Collaborative agreement with physicians on staff.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Proficient computer skills including MS Office/Google Suite.

Responsibilities

• Perform and document accurate history and physical assessments appropriate for patient age and problem.
• Order, perform, and interpret labs and diagnostics in collaboration with physicians.
• Manage general medical/surgical conditions using current knowledge and meds.
• Prescribe medications safely and educate patients.
• Promote APN practice recognition through conferences and publications.
• Provide patient- and family-centered care.
• Adhere to nursing protocols and care standards.
• Collaborate with medical staff to support nursing-led protocols.
• Mentor APNs and precept students; participate in educational programs.
• Identify patient/family educational needs and provide teaching materials.
