Job summary

The Bradbury Company in Moundridge, KS is seeking an entry-level painter/assembler to assist experienced staff by preparing parts, supplying materials, and performing painting and assembly tasks on production lines.

You will load materials, mask and prep items, follow safety procedures, and work as part of a team to meet daily production goals. A background in industrial painting is preferred, and willingness to work long hours when needed.

  • Prefer experience with painting prep and setup sheets.

SUMMARY

Assist experienced painters by preparing parts and assemblies for painting and furnishing them with materials, tools, and supplies. Perform painting duties and assembly work.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
  • Perform painting and assembly work on lines and components.
  • Load and move materials to work areas.
  • Ensure work areas are kept clean.
  • Clean, prepare, and mask items to be painted including sanding, filling, and prepping.
  • Duties include selecting, mixing, and applying the proper paints and colors.
  • Work in a team environment.
  • Accountable to follow safety and security procedures by using equipment and materials properly.
  • Prep equipment for shipment.
  • Other duties as assigned.
SKILLS & ABILITIES REQUIRED/PREFERRED
  • Ability to follow oral and written instructions.
  • Strong problem-solving ability.
  • Prefer the ability to read blueprints, bills of materials, and setup sheets.
  • Prefer experience using air assist and HVLP spray equipment
  • Able and skilled in the use of a wide variety of hand tools.
  • Basic math skills in all units of measure.
EDUCATION/TRAINING REQUIRED/PREFERRED
  • Prefer industrial painting and/or manufacturing background.
OTHER REQUIREMENTS/PREFERENCES
  • Must be able to wear a respirator while painting and pass fit testing.
  • Ability to change assignments frequently.
  • Is consistently at work on time and ensures work responsibilities are covered when absent.
  • Follows instructions and responds to management direction.
  • Takes responsibility for own actions and offers suggestions.
  • Commits to long hours of work when necessary to reach goals.
  • Quality focus.
