Job summary

Rivian is seeking a Group Leader for its Paint Operations in Normal, IL. You will lead and motivate teams to meet production milestones, guiding technicians, Team Leaders, and Team Members on both technical and process improvements.

This role reports to the Paint Operations Manager and requires driving best practices across shifts to ensure high-quality output and operational excellence at Rivian's on-site facility in Normal, Illinois.

Qualifications

• 3-5 years in a high-volume manufacturing environment with leadership experience.
• 3+ years experience with one of the following paint processes: Pretreatment/E-coat, Sealer, Prime, Basecoat, Clearcoat, Masking, Inspection or Repair.
• Engineering or Technical bachelor’s degree is preferred.
• Experience with Materials Requirement Planning (MRP) software such as SAP preferred.
• Kaizen / continuous improvement process experience.
• Demonstrated project management skills.
• Working knowledge of Google Docs, Sheets, Slides.

Responsibilities

• Direct supervision of technicians, Team Leaders, and Team Members.
• Train, develop, teach, and evaluate employees.
• Maintain a high-quality relationship with production managers regarding schedules and needed support.
• Perform and teach processes within the department and fill in as needed.
• Support pilot programs and change activities.
• Monitor and control capital and expense spending.
• Determine team member activity.
• May perform other duties as assigned.
• Plan and establish paint team agenda and ensure performance scheduling.
• Collaborate with Paint Shop Manager to identify and implement processes, equipment, and improvements to achieve operational excellence.
