Job summary

General Motors is seeking a paint process engineer intern to develop efficiencies in material flow and implement new processes and equipment. You will learn root-cause analysis, problem solving, and leadership skills to support personnel within the organization.

Responsibilities include maintaining engine assembly processes, collaborating on improvements, and providing technical support in a plant setting while prioritizing safety and quality.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in one of the listed engineering fields.
• Graduating between December 2026 and June 2027.
• Able to work full-time, 40 hours per week.
• Willing to work in a plant environment.

Responsibilities

• Maintain assembly processes to run effectively for engine manufacturing.
• Collaborate on problem solving and continuous improvement initiatives daily.
• Work with hourly and salaried employees to drive improvements.
• Analyze data, determine root causes, and implement plans.
• Identify opportunities to reduce cost, energy use and improve quality.
• Provide technical support for manufacturing operations.
• Coordinate input from customers to understand needs.
