UNC Health in Raleigh, NC is offering a Student Nurse Externship for nursing students to gain hands-on clinical experience during a 10-week paid program. You will work with an RN partner on a patient care team in a busy surgical/postop unit and participate in a wide range of learning activities aligned with the Enhanced Recovery After Surgery pathway.

Eligible students are rising senior ADN/BSN candidates enrolled in an accredited nursing program.

Competenze

• Fluent in verbal and written English language.
• Basic computer skills.
• Ability to organize and prioritize assignments in patient care.

Mansioni

• Observe, collect, and document patient information and report changes to RN.
• Assist with admission, orientation, and discharge processes.
• Provide care/treatments per plan of care including vital signs and basic nursing tasks.
• Assist with activities of daily living and mobility.
• Maintain clean and stocked work areas and assist with supplies.
• Reinforce patient education provided by RNs and providers.
• Assist in exams and procedures and procure equipment during emergencies.
• Support patient safety and behavior management as needed.
