Job summary

Beens Insurance Agency in San Antonio, TX is offering a 10-week Sales Development Intern role under the Farmers Insurance – Kim Beens Agency. The student will support licensed producers by calling leads, booking appointments, and learning how we quote insurance, with a hands-on introduction to the sales process.

This internship is a summer program through Students + Startups, based in our San Antonio office, with mentoring from experienced agents and a potential path to a licensed role.

Qualifications

• Current student or recent graduate of a San Antonio-area college or university (business, marketing, communications, or related field preferred).
• Strong phone and written communication skills, and comfortable making outbound calls.
• Organized and detail-oriented, with the ability to manage multiple tasks.
• Comfortable with computers, Microsoft Office/Excel, and learning new software.
• Self-motivated, coachable, and eager to learn.
• Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
• Professional and reliable, with the ability to keep customer information confidential.
• Bilingual (English/Spanish) a plus.
• No insurance license required. Interest in earning a Texas Property and Casualty license is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Make outbound calls to leads and book appointments for our licensed Agency Producers.
• Follow Do Not Call rules and agency calling guidelines on every outreach.
• Respond to customer messages, comments, and reviews on our social media pages and Yelp in a timely, professional manner.
• Enter and update lead, contact, and activity information in our CRM (AgencyZoom).
• Learn the agency’s quoting processes and systems under the guidance of licensed agents.
• Participate in daily team huddle.
• Engage fully in agency training on insurance basics, the sales process, and compliance.
• Other duties as assigned.
• Note: Interns will learn our quoting process but do not quote, sell, bind, or give advice on insurance coverage to customers. These activities are handled by our licensed agents.
