Target offers a Stores Executive Intern program, a paid 40 hr/week hands-on training track designed to prepare you for store leadership. You will work closely with mentors and leaders to develop skills in guest service, merchandising, and daily operations.

The internship emphasizes leading a team, driving guest experience, and managing priorities across departments, with ongoing development conversations and feedback to help you grow as a Target leader.

Qualifications

• Experience in guest service with a focus on guest-first culture.
• Ability to engage guests, solve problems and provide resolutions.
• Understanding of retail business fundamentals and store operations.
• Ability to plan department workload to meet priorities and guide a team.
• Experience leading hourly team members and leaders and setting goals.
• Experience recruiting, selecting and managing hourly staff.

Responsibilities

• Lead store team on daily priorities on the sales floor and backroom.
• Partner with ETL mentor and leaders to understand roles and responsibilities.
• Lead with daily priorities (stocking, safety, welcoming environment).
• Provide performance feedback and coaching to team members.
• Address issues to ensure smooth operations and goal attainment.
• Participate in daily huddles and present priorities to leadership team.
• Develop and implement goals and plans in collaboration with store leaders.
• Deliver exceptional guest experience by empowering staff to resolve issues.
