Job summary

DLR Group's South Central Region has a Mechanical Engineering Summer Intern opening in the Dallas or Houston studios. This EPX internship offers hands-on experience in an integrated design environment and a strong foundation for a career in the AEC industry.

The paid, full-time program runs May 18 through August 6, 2027. You will work alongside licensed professionals, participate in design discussions, and gain exposure to design processes from concept through construction documentation using

Qualifications

• Completed at least one year in an ABET-accredited Mechanical or Architectural Engineering program.
• Experience or interest in BIM workflows, e.g., Autodesk Revit MEP.

Responsibilities

• Assist a mechanical engineer with the design and development of construction documents using Revit.
• Attend design team meetings and observe coordination in a multi-disciplinary design team.
• Work on designing mechanical systems for new builds and renovations.
• Visit active construction sites where permissible.
• Contribute to HVAC, plumbing, and fire protection concepts from concept to completion.
