Job summary

DLR Group offers a Mechanical Engineering Intern position for Summer 2027. You will work with licensed engineers on mechanical systems for diverse building projects, gaining hands-on exposure from concept through construction documentation.

The EPX program provides mentorship, project work, and weekly learning sessions, with a paid, full-time schedule from May 18 to August 6, 2027. This role builds technical and professional skills within a collaborative design environment.

Qualifications

• One year completed in ABET-accredited Mechanical or Architectural Engineering program.
• Experience or interest in BIM (Autodesk Revit MEP) workflow.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with licensed engineer to design mechanical systems for new construction or renovations.
• Attend design team meetings to observe coordination in a multi-disciplinary team.
• Assist in designing and developing construction documents using Revit.
• Visit active construction sites when possible.
• Develop HVAC, plumbing, and fire protection designs from concept to completion.
