Job summary

DLR Group is seeking a Mechanical Engineering Intern for Summer 2027 to contribute to the design of mechanical systems within an integrated design team. This paid, full-time internship runs May 18 through August 6, 2027, with hands-on project work, mentorship, and weekly learning sessions in an EPX program.

You will collaborate with mechanical engineers and other disciplines, participate in design discussions, and gain experience from early concepts to documentation and construction

Qualifications

• Completed at least one year in an ABET-accredited Mechanical Engineering or Architectural Engineering program.
• Experience or interest in BIM workflow (e.g., Autodesk Revit MEP).

Responsibilities

• Work with a licensed engineer designing mechanical systems for new construction or renovations.
• Attend design team meetings and observe coordination within a multi-disciplinary team.
• Assist with design and development of construction documents primarily using Revit.
• Visit an active construction site (contingent on local projects).
• Develop HVAC, plumbing, and fire protection designs from concept through completion.
