Job summary

DLR Group invites a Mechanical Engineering Intern for the Summer 2027 EPX program. You will contribute to the design of mechanical systems for buildings of varying sizes, collaborating with engineers and professionals across architecture, interiors, and engineering disciplines.

This paid, full-time internship runs May 18 through August 6, 2027 and offers hands-on design experience. You will participate in design discussions, site visits, and teamwork with mentors while developing construction

Qualifications

• Must have completed at least one year in an ABET‑accredited Mechanical or Architectural Engineering program.
• Experience or interest in BIM workflows, especially Revit MEP.
• FE exam is a plus for eligibility and progression.

Responsibilities

• Assist licensed engineers in designing mechanical systems for new construction or renovations.
• Attend design team meetings and observe multidisciplinary coordination.
• Assist in developing construction documents using Revit.
• Visit active construction sites when possible.
• Develop HVAC, plumbing and fire protection concepts from concept to construction.
