Job summary

DLR Group's Summer 2027 Mechanical Engineering Internship offers hands-on experience within an integrated design team. You will engage in the design of mechanical systems for various building projects, working alongside licensed engineers across architecture, interiors, and other disciplines.

The program runs May 18 through August 6, 2027 and is a paid full-time internship. You’ll gain exposure to the design process from concept through construction documentation and administration.

Qualifications

• Completed at least one year in an ABET‑accredited Mechanical or Architectural Engineering program.
• Experience or interest in BIM workflow.
• Eligibility to work in the United States (no visa sponsorship).

Responsibilities

• Assist a mechanical engineer with the design of mechanical systems for buildings.
• Attend design team meetings and observe multidisciplinary coordination.
• Develop construction documents using Revit and participate in site visits.
• Contribute to HVAC, plumbing, and fire protection design development.
