Job summary

DLR Group is seeking a Mechanical Engineering Intern for Summer 2027 to contribute to integrated design projects. The role supports building mechanical systems from concept through documentation, working with licensed engineers and cross-disciplinary teams.

The internship runs May 18 through August 6, 2027, is full-time, paid, and designed to give hands-on experience in construction documents and design development within an EPX program.

Qualifications

• Completed at least one year in an ABET-accredited Mechanical or Architectural Engineering program.
• Experience or interest in BIM workflows (e.g., Autodesk Revit MEP).

Responsibilities

• Assist design teams in developing mechanical systems for buildings of various types and sizes.
• Attend design meetings and observe coordination among multi-disciplinary teams.
• Assist with the design and development of construction documents using Revit.
• Visit active construction sites when possible.
• Develop HVAC, plumbing, and fire protection designs from concept to completion.
